Description:

Brown female shield-backed katydid cricket with prominent ovipositor that curls up. Dark brown/black line above each eye. This cricket has striped wings.

Habitat:

Dry chaparral area with grasses at Daley Ranch

It's a cricket, a grasshopper would have shorter and thicker antenna.
