Achatina fulica
"The East African land snail, or giant African land snail is a species of large, air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc in the family Achatinidae. As they develop rapidly and produce large numbers of offspring, this mollusc is a serious invasive species. It is a voracious feeder, and recognized as a serious pest organism affecting agriculture, natural ecosystems, and human health and commerce."
This spotting: large semi-urban yard/garden next to a disturbed patch of remnant forest.
An invasive species all too common in my garden. One of the top 100 invasive species in the world (http://www.issg.org/database/species/sea...).

Snailery is intriguing!
Yes I know it :-). No, not really. Many local languages both sides (25% of the world's languages), but the lingua franca in the east is "Tok Pisin" or Neo-Melanesian [Pidgin English]
hi Chun, yes people in all island in Indonesia are speaking Indonesia as our National language
That is quite a big "siput" you spotted there.
I'm sure you know what siput means.
Does the eastern side of the island speak Indonesian?
