Even the bad photos are good with subjects like these...can't miss, living in this amazingly bio-diverse area of the world...the trick is to keep it this way...as the pasture land becomes abandoned and is reclaimed by mother nature, some animals are returning, ie, the scarlet macaws are coming north from the Peninsula, however, the increased use of pesticides and defoliants for the foreign housing market is effecting some of the frog populations here...

Good pic!
Searching in the wikipedia I have found that the trogons and quetzals are birds in the order Trogoniformes. They feed on insects and fruit.
You are very lucky Matthew, I hope to see one day this wonderful bird.
