Meerkat

Suricata suricatta

Habitat:

Live in burrows they dig out for their families in South Africa. These meerkats are at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

Notes:

Meerkat; part of the mongoose family. These tiny mammals have small, thin tails and they primarily eat bugs or insects. Predators include snakes and large birds.

I have added new pictures and replaced some of the older ones. The meerkats were at the same location so I didn't add another spotting! Hope everyone likes the new photos! :)
