Equus caballus

Description:

Breed of horse developed in Austria and northern Italy. Haflingers are relatively small, always chestnut in color and are well-muscled. They were bred for use in mountainous terrain, and are known for their hardiness.

Habitat:

Wide grasslands, mountainsides.
