9-11 mm, blue-green, scutum is shiny, wings are transparent

Habitat:

Southern Canada, US, Mexico. Nest in the ground in tunnels they dig.

Notes:

Bee is pollinating a cholla tree flower.

Thanks. The cholla is about 5 feet tall and does look like a Christmas tree in full bloom. However, the blooms only last for a few days.
