ive heard that they have some kind of symbiotic relationship with fungi and trees, and are semiparasitic

Monotropa uniflora, also known as the Ghost Plant, Indian Pipe, or Corpse Plant is a herbaceous perennial plant. A couple years ago when I was hiking in the White Mountains in NH I came across these and wondered what they were as well
