Good Scott - We had good neighbours like that on the prairies in Idaho. Always thinking about what their efforts did to the environment. It seems only the very large farmers who mono-crop and use chemicals without thought -are for profit only and to damage us all.

Bobolinks are great birds. Unfortunately they need relatively undisturbed tall grass to nest, and that kind of habitat is disappearing from Massachusetts. This nearby field is part of a farm that leaves sections of their hayfields unmowed every year in order to give grass nesting birds a place to breed.
