Globe Thistles

Echinops bannaticus

Description:

While growing they develop a round-shape shrub. Globe thistle isn't an evergreen; during the summer it assumes a blue colouring. The adult species are large in size and reach 1,5 m in height.

I really appreciate this picture because I've only seen these at the end of their growing season: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/710... and I had no idea what it was. It was the first picture I put on ProjectNoah and you hayde, identified it for me in a flash! So thanks again!

Indeed, they look lovely on the ceiling, especially with the warm, colourful light that penetrates through them.
