Tarsius (Carlito) syrichta
A mammal with the one of the largest eye to body ratio.
Forest, Greater Mindanao area.
The taxonomic revision of tarsiers of Southeast Asia has been put forth by Groves & Myron (Int J Primatol (2010) 31:1071–1082). They argue that there are actually 3 genera of Tarsiers -Tarsius (Sulawesi tarsiers), Cephalopachus (Sundaland tarsiers), and Carlito (Greater Mindanao tarsiers). Molecular studies have shown that these genera separated from one another in the Middle or Late Miocene. The authors say that they have no hesitation in separating Carlito from Cephalopachus at the generic level. Carlito means diminutive man of the countryside. It is also in recognition of Carlito Pizarras, a man of the Visayan countryside who dedicated his life to the pursuit of knowledge about and the conservation of the Philippine Tarsiers.

Okay, that makes sense. I was just going by the date.
Just saw this while looking for old files.
Ooops..sorry, wrong date. It was in Loboc, near the church. I heard that it's prohibited to get them as pets now. This is a welcome development since these animals are really not sociable and are prone to stress with humans.
Back in The Philippines for holiday? Is this at someone's house?
