Purple flower with yellow pollen.
Spotted in dry chaparral area by Lake Hodges in Escondido.
Most of the plant seemed dead which explains the lack of detailed photos!
It may be a wild geranium. I didn't take any pics of leaves because there weren't any!
Did you get any picks of the leaves - it maybe a wild geranium - here's my spotting
