Happy World Lion Day 2013! Lions can reach speeds of up to 81 kph (50 mph) but only in short bursts because of a lack of stamina.
I also live in Indonesia in Tangerang

Hi Steph! Beautiful portrait! Please can you add the scientific name so that we can take this off of the "unknown" list & add a link (wikipedia etc) to the references. Because we have a global user base & sometimes many different common names for the same species, the system will continue to show a spotting as unidentified until the scientific name has been completed.
Thank you so much Sean, Mary and Marta!
Aldo, I wouldn't let me mark the exact coordinates. For some reason it marked it as Kalimantan, but it wasn't there.
Really beautiful picture!
I'm from Indonesia, as long as I know, there is no lion in Kalimantan. Are you sure this picture taken in Kalimantan?
Best picture I have ever seen of an animal, truly amazing. Everything about this picture is just beautiful. Well done on such a great capture...
What a perfect photograph... amazing. :)
You're welcome, you indeed deserved it! :)
Yep, that's the same photo! Great memory. I was (and still am) so shocked and happy to have made it that far in the competition. Thank you so much for the compliment :)
