Miramar, just north of San Diego. I was deployed to afghanistan last year. didn't see much wildlife other than this though.

ya, it was actually a pretty young one. my brother told me he saw one in iraq that was (in his words) "the size of a paper plate". this little guy was roughly the size of your palm. he was chasing us too. we found him wondering around the flightline around 2 in the morning (working the graveyard shift) and he started chasing us as soon as we put our flashlights on him.
