Sulphur sago

Trichoderma sulphureum

Description:

From a distance this resembles dog vomit slime mold (Fuligo septica) and close up it resembles sago pudding,
There were two patches about 60mm long and about 4mm thick.

Habitat:

Found on a damp log in the local national park. Dandenong Ranges NP.

Notes:

Synonymous with Hypocrea sulphurea, Sphaeria sulfurea
Apparently this stuff is parasitic on Exidia sp. !!
