Description:

Attractive yellow/orange and black caterpillar of the cinnabar moth.

Habitat:

Temperate meadows, grasslands etc

Notes:

The caterpillar eats toxic plant material. It stores the toxins within the body making it taste unpleasant. This helps it avoid predation.
