Size/Tamanho: ~4cm-4,5cm (not counting stretched legs / sem contar as pernas esticadas).

In the references I put the Wikipedia article that calls it a member of the genus Hypsiboas, but that has recently been changed to the genus Boana.

Habitat:

Wet primary and secondary rainforests and woods. Occasionally found in backwater towns, where this one was found.

Florestas primárias e secundárias úmidas e bosques. Ocasionalmente encontradas em cidades de interior, onde esta foi achada.

Notes:

Anteriormente membro do gênero Hypsiboas, essa perereca ou é uma Boana bischoffi (Boulenger, 1887) OU uma Boana prasina (Burmeister, 1856), e estou mais inclinado para Boana bischoffi. A família Hylidae consiste, em maioria, de pererecas arbóreas, mas também estão inclusas pererecas terrestres e semi-aquáticas. Seus olhos frontais são binoculares e suas patas dianteiras e anteriores possuem dedos com almofadas adesivas. Hylídeos alimentam-se de insetos e pequenos invertebrados, mas algumas espécies podem se alimentar de pequenos vertebrados. Depositam os ovos próximos à água, como lagoas e plantas que coletam água. Alguns depositam os ovos em cima de folhas que ficam sobre os rios, de forma que os girinos que venham a nascer caiam diretamente dentro da água. Fêmeas de algumas espécies carregam os ovos nas costas. Pertencem à classe Amphibia, subclasse Lissamphibia, superordem Batrachia, ordem Anura, subordem Neobatrachia, superfamília Hyloidea (Bufonoidea???), família Hylidae, subfamília Cophomantinae e tribo Cophomantini

Formerly in the genus Hypsiboas, this frog is either a Boana bischoffi (Boulenger, 1887) OR a Boana prasina (Prasina tree frog) (Burmeister, 1856), and I'm more inclined, although not sure, to B. bischoffi. The common name refers to the creature's family Hylidae, which consists mostly of tree frogs, but there are terrestrial and semi-aquatic individuals as well. Their frontal eyes are displayed in a binocular fashion and their frontal and hind legs' fingers possess adhesive cushions. Hylids feed on insects and small invertebrates, but a few species can eat small vertebrates. They lay their eggs near water, like in ponds and water-collecting plants. Some lay their eggs on leaves that are on top of ponds or rivers so that when the tadpoles hatch they fall directly into the water. Some species' females even carry the eggs on their backs. They belong in the class Amphibia, subclass Lissamphibia, superorder Batrachia, order Anura, suborder Neobatrachia, superfamily Hyloidea (Bufonoidea???), family Hylidae, subfamily Cophomantinae and tribe Cophomantini.
