I see a lot of these webs. Some are in holes. I think with these spiders if they find a hole they will use it. I don't think they make the hole themselves though. I know that the holes where this spider was at were crawdad holes.

Today I went to Mt Diablo and saw lots of burrows neatly covered with spider web. i was reading about spiders and wondering whether they could be homes of burrowing spiders.

No. It's actually at a crawdad hole. Normally I see these spiders in funnel webs. Here is one like it, in it's web.
