Goldenrod Crab Spider

Misumena vatia

Description:

White (very round) spider with red racing stripes!!!

Habitat:

Western Oregon

Notes:

She was shy, had to photograph her on the under side of this pretty yellow plant! These spiders can change their color from white to yellow to match the flower they are on!!

Karen's got this one covered. These spiders are pretty neat, there's a good amount of variation in their color. They're also great at hiding in the goldenrod.
