jumping spider

Description:

Salticidae (jumping spiders) "contains more than 500 described genera and about 5,000 described species, making it the largest family of spiders" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_spi...

Habitat:

Large semi-urban yard/garden adjacent to a disturbed patch of remnant forest.

Notes:

I find jumping spiders much calmer on my hand than on the vegetation where I first spot them.

Thanks all! I don't catch them. Often they will just jump on me if I offer my hand. I would not do this for all spiders...I happen to know these guys (jumping spiders) don't bite (me :).
