Perga dorsalis
A fresh spring cluster of sawfly larvae clinging to a small eucalyptus stem.
In a local nature reserve.
These develop to become quite handsome brown and yellow wasp as adults.

Thanks Lauren. I hope I've expressed the 'repulsiveness' of these things... probably should add a video of their awful synchronised tail-waving behaviour.
