7 Spot Ladybird

Description:

Round, red beetle-esque flying insect with distinctive black markings on its outer casing which seems to serve as protection for its wings.

Habitat:

Greenery. I myself generally find them around berry bushes, particularly blackberries, but this may be coincidence.

As Eve Dosh said, these little guys are ladybird beetles-- or ladybugs, as most people where I'm from call them.
They probably hang around the berry bushes for their main food-- aphids! Next time you see one try and find some aphids near them-- they're probably hunting. Or otherwise just relaxing :)
