Thanks Lori Thanks "J" I went specifically to find this beetle because I have no photograph of it yet. It needs a hot day and flowering ti-tree. I found only one. Very satisfying. There should be a few more around later in the season.
This is the smallest buprestid that I am aware of. I have added a photo of the leaves of the ti-tree but it doesn't indicate mimicry. Some species have larger leaves.
