This image od Darter or Snakebird was captured in Bharatpur, India. Indian Darters are classified as Near Threatened by IUCN mainly due to loss of habitat... primarily wetlands. They typically spear the fish while swimming under water and then toss it up and gulp it down on resurfacing. They are often seen beside lakes and water bodies drying their feathers by spreading their wings.
