Papilio cresphontes
Large. Wingspan about 140mm. Body length about 45mm. Predominantly black on top with two dotted yellow bands forming a sideways 'y' across each pair of wings. Wings mostly yellow below. Body primarily yellow with a dorsal black line running to the tip of the abdomen.
Urban garden. Primarily fed at Zinnias. Occasionally at butterfly bush or Purple Coneflower.
Very similar in habits to the locally more common Black Swallowtail. Continually flutters wings while feeding, spending only a few seconds at each flower.
