@AshishNimkar - please check map for location. I can confirm it is not a bird of prey, closest match so far is a grey partridge but still not 100% on it.
Wings are too short to be a bird of prey. Looks like a field bird such as partridge, grouse, or even some sort of dove. I'm not familiar with UK birds.

Thankyou for all the input everyone.
Hi Nicole... my first guess of Turkey bird was not bad then...as you reached o Quail.
Checked my Collins guide.
From the pattern and colours I go with Quail. Would also fit the legth of tail (as far as one can tell)
Seems to me if it were a bird of prey or a carrion bird, this carcass wouldn't be there to be photographed, but would have been eaten.

Common buzzards are very common in the area but the feathers look a little too light.
Can be a Osprey which had Blackish shades...!!
Hmmm but feathers are more Black than Yellow or brown... find in Birds of prey.. Like Falcon, Vulture, Eagle etc.
Ah, I don't know, a small falcon or something.
Hard to tell from this shot.
@ Nicole..Which one...?
