Pencil Bolete

Boletus pulchriceps

Description:

What I like to call "pencil mushrooms", these guys are truly amazing. :)

Habitat:

Found growing alone, in some leaf litter, turns green-blue when injured, pale-to-vivid pink cap with a bright school-bus yellow underside, stipe fairly yellowish, growing during the summer, under a nice shady bush of some sort, could not retrive a spore print, and the cap is tense (shows resistance upon snapping).

Notes:

A native to Arizona, this species needs more research!
