Belted Kingfisher

Megaceryle alcyon

Description:

Oddly this kingfisher was hanging out on a small pond, gave me chance to finally catch my nemesis on camera. Now that I have an identifiable photo I can try for a decent one.

It's the same way for me! But it always means there is something you have to work that much harder for, wouldn't be any fun if you already had good pictures of everything!

They taunt me Ashley, landing on a branch 30 feet from me at eye level, then flying off the moment I get camera in front of me. Funny I can observe them all day long if I don't reach for a camera.

Don't worry Chester, they are this way for everyone. Such frustrating birds!
