Yellow rump thornbill

Acanthiza chrysorrhoa

Description:

A species of passerine bird from the genus Acanthiza. There are four subspecies of Yellow-rumped Thornbill. It is a small (100 -120mm), brownish bird with a distinctive yellow rump and thin dark bill.

Habitat:

It inhabits savannah, scrub and forests across most of Australia and eats insects. .A small flock of three in my front yard.

Notes:

The species engages in cooperative breeding
