St John's wort

Hypericum perforatum

Its name comes from traditional flowering and harvesting on St John's day (24 June.) It is one of the most common herbs used in herbal medicine. Essential oil is extracted from St John's wort and it is wildly known as a mild treatment for depression, insomnia, migraine.

Tincture of Hypericum perforatum: put 100g of St John's wort in a jar and add rectified alcohol (95% ABV). Leave for 7 days. Before use, pass it through the gauze. Take 1 tablespoon of the tincture diluted in a glass of water twice a day for troubles with liver, stomach or bile duct.
