Praying Mantis

Mantis religiosa

Description:

2", tan

Habitat:

meadows

Notes:

I spotted this mantis caught in a huge spider web on the building outside of the lunchroom at work. I was really surprised to look and see the huge insect caught in a massive web about 8' above the ground.

Thanks Dangermouse. I just checked them on your profile. You have seen quite a few this year!

Love that first pic, the expression is priceless. :) I've seen quite a few this year, and so many different colours and types that I've never seen before. It's strange.
