Description:

Difficult small butterfly that didn't like photographers at the edge of our garden. Family: Spread -wing Skippers, Pyrginae Wingspan: 2.5 - 3.6cm 1.0 to 1.4 inch Above: Dark brown/black with black bands and subtle white spots; hindwing has distinct scalloped margins. Forewing: is as above but lighter.

Habitat:

Shady wooded stream margins - weedy disturbed sites fallow fields and forest edges.
