Its a male looking for mate. they tend to end up on odd places, usually on your sink car tires and inside the house. They get lost don't know how to find their way out for the sake of the female :-)
Hey Keith: it is actually a Dolomedes tenebrosus, or dark fishing spider. These spiders generally tend to live in wooded areas.
That's odd the fishing spider is away from water.
