In this festival... 2 animals had greatest respect among Indians.
Elephant due to his head is used to form Lord Ganesha
Mouse due it is considered as vehicle of consciousness to Lord Ganesha.

This grass is called Sacred Durva in India and used to offer Lord Ganesha's Prayers and Puja. Great Ganesha Festival Begins on day after tomorrow.. on Thursday...!!
