Your welcome Janice. After your spotting is correctly identified, you should go to 'edit this spoting' on the upper right and add in the common name and scientific name so this will no longer remain and unknown spotting. Welcome to Project Noah.

The flowers have a slight purple colour to them.

This is a Datura for sure. Might not be the species suggested. Did it have large, fragrant white blooms? Do you have any shots of the leaves? This photo is of the immature seed pod.
