Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Female)

Papilio glaucus

Description:

Notice the "tiger" stripes on the forewing striping towards the blue at the hind wing. The under-side of these butterflies is different than the top, with many more orange spots.

Notes:

I have spotted this butterfly numerous times in my backyard. This is the closest picture I have gotten that shows the nice coloring. Here is another of my spottings of the same butterfly (I think) about 10 days ago. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/707...

Thanks Noah_906. I've been spotting that same species for a few months now...they seem to love the lantana.
