red mushroom with a white border, my guess would be a Reishi mushroom
Sorry Atul, I was wrong ,your spotting is not america..
Hi Atul !!!,you could add to the mission "Fungus in America", :)http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8508...
thanks both of you that was very helpful probably in my next fungi spotting i will try and get as many details as possible
Thanks Alex.. With your help I am leaning... I learn here on Project Noah.. about Fungi from Gina and Mich(he found not active since last 15 days)
it should be helpful. does he have little holes, or spikes, is he smooth or does he have an other color --- it would be helpful (by every mushroom)
Yes Atul... In in Fungus..with structure Identification is important... There is lot variety of fruiting and flowering type Fungus structures..!!
ashish -- i like to hear your suggestion- pycnoporus ( http://www.google.nl/search?um=1&hl=... ) --> OR ganoderma -- ( http://www.google.nl/search?um=1&hl=... ) -- i said (i'am also just human) and i'am no longer sure. i think this one is your area and iám think you are maybe (more than maybe) right !!!
alex tell me would seeing the underside of the fungi be helpful in identifying the specie
i think the reishi isn't so smooth, but because there's only on picture (no underside) it will be only a guess !!
Alex.. Isn't this Reishi...? Ganoderma sp...?
thanks Alex
when i could see, the underside, i would make a real suggestion, but i will follow "saarbrigger" with his suggestion because he's right. --- http://www.google.nl/search?um=1&hl=... -- there are some with white boarder.!!
Looks a bit like a "Pycnoporus cinnabarinus", but it's rare in India and normally it has not white boarder.
thanks Laura would appreciate an id for it.
That is an awesome colour for a mushroom :) I love it! Sweet find
