Hemiscolopendra marginata
Mom with offspring spotted in Horseshoe Bend National Military Park, Alabama under a very decayed log.
Another great mother... when spotted, she wrapped her body around the young and gathered them into a ball.
Thanks Karen! There are so many new missions it took me a while to find this one, but I'm very glad you told me about it.
What a great photo - you should consider adding it to the Brooding Behavior in Arthropods mission!
Misako... it is a bit terrifying, but seeing the fear in something else helps us realize we are obviously the ones to be feared! And Raulalsc, thanks! I am not sure of the genus or species of this lady, and they are so hard to count since they are white/clear. I would guess there were 20 or more?
