Paradoxurus hermaphroditus
It comes to our house everyday to eat my dog's left over food. It is very shy and runs at the very sight of us.

Is a civet cat also known as "Bellura" ?
@lori ,@arun,@ Ashish @Harsha, Great work!!
To me it really looks like a mini kangaroo!
You got it already Arun! It is a civet cat. Thanks a lot. I have been trying hard to figure this out. Never thought it could be a civet.
Hey thanks people. It's no squirrel. I am sure of that. It's quite bigger in size. It could be some lemur..I keep trying to get its pictures but it is very very shy and would not stop for one.

Nice work... Arun..
Harsh... I hope now you will follow and fielded for her more better pictures then...!!
Otherwise it will be a Cat... the shape of Back, ears and style of sitting matches with a cat.
Ears are not matching... for squirrel.
Himalayan Striped Squirrel has bigger ears...
Emma, I thought of of a giant squirrel at first, but am less sure since looking at some photos. The tail is a real mystery.
