Description:

Medium sized softshell found in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. In Indonesia, it is found in Sumatra and Java. This species is rarely found in Java, it was spotted in Bogor. There has been another spotting reported in Malang. It is monotypical of its genus.

Habitat:

Lives in slow moving forest streams, with sandy bottom. In Java, it is usually found in montane streams or higher region.
