Hosta

Hosta 'Fragrant Bouquet'

Description:

Shade loving perennial, large heart-shaped, green variegated leaves. Tall stalks bearing fragrant white flowers in late summer (attracts hummingbirds!). Plant itself only reaches about 2' max in height. A deer favorite.

Habitat:

Shady deciduous forests and landscapes, with moist, well-drained soil. Was able to keep the deer from their yearly demolition of this plant long enough for it to flower, a great success in an area where deer outnumber humans.
