Crambid

Glyphodes onychinalis

Description:

A species of moth native to tropical Asia and parts of Oceania. It hosts on a variety of plants including oleander and jasmine. This species was first recorded in Southern California during 2000 and has spread since, likely aided by the widespread planting of its favorite plants.

Notes:

This could be a first record of this species for Santa Clara County. Found by dumb luck in my backyard as it flew to the kitchen window. Interestingly, this was the first crambid I ever consciously found at my house.
