Northern Green Frog

Lithobates clamitans


Due to lack of the yellow skin pigment this frog is a has a turquoise body with green legs and scattered green spots on body. Small dark spots also on legs and body with pale yellow belly.


Found near fresh water sources in fields, swamps, occasional woodlands and roadsides.


Green frog lacking yellow pigment- found in next to a vernal pond at summer job in Adirondacks.
