Dark Fishing Spider

Dolomedes tenebrosus

Description:

Spider on an oak tree in a forested wetland area. This spider was motionless the entire time pictures were being taken. Tampa bay area, FL, USA. I was unable to provide any sizing other than that offered by the tree itself. There is the lichen and a small bit of Spanish moss to the far right. I'd estimate the size to be 4-6 inches top to bottom including legs.

Habitat:

Forested wetland.

Notes:

Great camouflage!
