Rufous Hummingbird

Selasphorus rufus

Habitat:

Rural scrub desert bordering riparian

Notes:

Rufous Hummingbirds are the most aggressive hummingbirds we get here. They will try to monopolize a feeder and drive all the other hummers away. During peak feeding times, morning and evening, they have to give up, there are too many hummers to drive away. The fourth picture shows 3 Rufous on the left and a Calliope on the right.
