A very lucky Common Housefly

Musca domestica

Description:

This is just an ordinary fly, but when we spotted it, every part of it except its wings was completely soaked in a wishing well (Not sure how it managed that). The fly was desperately trying to lift off, but, as you can see in the picture, the surface tension was pulling it back with a vengence. Of course we tossed the poor guy a leaf. About two seconds later, it was up and away.
