Pleasing Fungus Beetle

Gibbifer californicus

Description:

As the name suggests, these guys travel far and wide to find their food; fungus of all kinds. :)

Notes:

When looking for mushrooms, I also keep my eyes open for these guys. Not surprisingly, whenever I find one I find the other. :p

Thank you! Hahah no here, since there aren't so many mushrooms growing, every last bug is notified of the food and they're there, no questions asked.

Great series! I've seen a few of these beetles here (in SW Colorado), but never a large group like that.
