Mediterranean Katydid Nymph on sunflower

Phaneroptera nana

Description:

Spotted this katydid nymph on my mammoth sunflower in my back yard in Emeryville, CA. The green was so vibrant and stood out against the yellow sunflower. It had really long antennae and the wings looked really small and undeveloped.

Habitat:

Urban flower garden.

Thank you textless--I was really close to it and was surprised that it did not hop away! I was so happy to get really good shots.

I like this photo a lot. The colors are great, and the katydid seems to be looking you right in the eye. Lens. You know what I mean.

Possibly a Mediterranean Katydid Nymph. The fifth image looks close at http://nathistoc.bio.uci.edu/orthopt/Pha...
