Big-Headed Fly

Description:

A Big-Headed fly with red eyes and a grey body. The wings of these flies are twice the length of the body. This one is a female, 3mm in length. Most of the Big-Headed Flies are endoparasites of Leaf Hoppers and Plant Hoppers. Family Pipunculidae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
