Description:

Small silvery grey fish with blackish stripes, the biggest one was about 8-9 cm in length - our local contacts identified it as one of Tilapia species, and a very common one in freshwaters of Niger delta, but it was not clear if this was a definite size of it, or if these were some younger ones...

Habitat:

Seen in freshwater in delta of river Niger, in a swollen river waters, very close to a newly formed shoreline, swimming and feeding among water hyacinths and flood debris.
