Rainbow Lorikeet

Trichoglossus haematodus

Description:

This pretty bird is native to the Eastern States of Australia but is an inroduced species to Perth, WA. This one was photographed feeding on the seeds of my neighbours tree. While attractive they are an aggressive bird and are known to steal nesting hollows from the natives
